As we head into summer, we want to provide an opportunity for you to grab a friend or two (or a small group) and connect and grow with others relationally and spiritually!
You and your partner(s) can meet as much as you can (maybe 1x/week) by phone and/or in person to connect and pray. Take a walk, visit a favorite coffee shop or each other's homes, meet virtually on Zoom or FaceTime - there's a lot of flexibility!
What book are we reading this summer?
We are going to read and study A Place to Belong by Megan Hill. The church has more beauty—and more value—than we can see with physical eyes. Though our congregations are made up of ordinary people engaged in predictable practices, we are an outpost of heaven itself. The church is the people of God, the dwelling place of the Spirit, and the fullness of Christ. With rich theology and practical direction, A Place to Belong invites us to experience the local church in light of the Bible’s testimony. Considering nine biblical terms for the church—such as beloved, brothers and sisters, saints, and gospel partners—this book equips us to love and serve one another. Whether we are new Christians or mature believers, learning to love the local church can become one of our greatest privileges and highest joys. The church is where we belong.
Author Megan Hill serves as an editor for the Gospel Coalition. A pastor’s wife and a pastor’s daughter, she lives in Massachusetts with her husband and four children, where they belong to West Springfield Covenant Community Church (PCA).
Books will be available beginning Sunday, June 1, in the Worship Center foyer, with a suggested donation of $5.
