It’s all God’s Money

“The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” (Psalm 24:1)

“Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” (Deut. 8:18)

As Christians, we believe that God is the owner and provider of everything we have as described in the above two passages. We are his money managers. We are stewards of the resources he has entrusted to us. The bible talks about money more than any other subject. Why? Because we show where our heart is with where we spend our time and money.

So how much are we called to give to the church and how should we keep for ourselves or other purposes? Leviticus 27:30 gives us this starting place; “A tithe of everything from the land, whether from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” The word tithe means “a tenth part.”

At UPC we believe that the bible calls us to give at least ten percent of our income back to God and that we can and should give additional offerings as our hearts and resources allow.

As a church, we pledge to be good stewards of your tithes, and offerings and will seek to use them for furthering God's Kingdom. We encourage you to take a look at our budget to see how your gifts are being used.

The church budget is approved annually by the Session (the Elders) who is kept abreast of the status throughout the year by the Finance Team who manages the budget on regular basis. The Finance Team is made up of individuals from the congregation with full transparency into all transactions, financial commitments and obligations.

Giving Methods

You may give your gifts in a variety of forms. You will receive a receipt of your tax-deductible gifts in accordance with IRS requirements. Please let us know if you have any specific needs regarding the timing of these notifications; otherwise, you will receive the standard summary of your gifts as outlined by government standards.

Online Giving

We have set up online giving as a convenience for you to give on a one-time or ongoing basis. Proceed to the Online Giving Form and follow the directions to give online. *Having your contribution come directly from your bank account, rather than a credit card, saves UPC up to $10,000 annually in fees.

Online Banking - Bill Pay

Another easy and convenient way to give is to make use of the online bill pay feature that is often available as a part of online banking by many banks (you will have to check with your bank to verify the availability of this feature).

When making use of this feature, request a paper check to be sent rather than an electronic check, and a check in the amount you designate will be sent directly from the bank to UPC. The mailing purposes please use the following address: UPC / Attn. Contributions / 2562 Rouse Rd. / Orlando, FL 32817.

You can give cash during Sunday-morning worship services or drop it off at the UPC Office during normal business hours. Please put cash gifts in an envelope with your name and the amount given if you want the gift to post to your annual contribution statement.

Checks or Money Orders

Checks or money orders can be given in three ways:

  • Placed in the offering basket during Sunday-morning worship
  • Dropped off at the UPC Office
  • Mailed to UPC / Attn. Contributions / 2562 Rouse Rd. / Orlando, FL 32817

Gifts of Stock

If you would like to make a gift of stock to UPC, please email Tanya Turner in the church office for our broker information. For purposes of recording this contribution, we will determine the value of your gift by averaging the high and low trading values on the date the stock was received by the church. Valuation for tax purposes may differ.

Financial Assistance

UPC aims to respond to physical and financial needs with compassion and discernment. As we are able, we help provide for the immediate physical needs of individuals and families.
