Out of Egypt

August 19, 2012 Series: The Ten Words

Topic: Sermons Passage: Exodus 20:1–20:17

This message is the first in UPC's sermon series on the Ten Commandments. In this introductory sermon, Pastor Mike Osborne says that the Ten Commandments reveal God's holy character as well as his gracious heart. It is important to note the context of the Ten Commandments. Exodus 20:2 says, "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." The foundation of law is gospel. God loved us in redemption long before he asked us to love him in obedience. From what forms of bondage has God delivered you? Let his redemptive love melt you into obedience.
